CAPA Club Competitions
All IACC members are eligible to enter CAPA Club Competitions that our club chooses to take part in. These competitions will be announced both at club meetings and on the website.
Members can submit one image via the CAPA Competition link under Competitions on our website. The entries are then judged by three experienced members from our club. Each image is scored out of ten by each judge and the scores are then totaled. The six top scoring photos are submitted to CAPA as our club entry. All club entries consist of six images from six different members.
All images are scored by three CAPA-appointed judges, and again each image is scored out of ten by each judge. The scores are then totaled to arrive at a final score for each club entered. The top three clubs are awarded medals with Honorable Mentions also awarded. Top scoring individual images are also given medals.
All scores are published so our members can see how their images compared to all the entries.
Also, entries to most CAPA Competitions are eligible for entry into the current Four Nations Competition.
We have participated in CAPA club competitions the past few years, winning a few medals, and intend to do so again this year.

2019 Four Nations Competition
The Four Nations Competition is an international competition held yearly by the national photographic associations of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
For this competition, CAPA was required to select 80 images from different photographers and image appropriate for inclusion into one of four categories: Nature (15 images), Monochrome (15 images), Open (35 images) and My Country (15 images).
The 50 to 75 images from each of our 2017-2018 ‘Club’ & ‘Individual’ competitions were shortlisted and re-judged by a separate team of Certified CAPA judges. Based on their scoring, the top 80 images were selected as CAPA’s submission to this competition.
In mid-August, we received official notification that CAPA placed 1st in this competition. In 2019, CAPA will be hosting the Four Nations Competition. We will be using the same selection processes as we did in 2018.
