Macro / Close-Up (Special Interest Group)

In this special interest group, hosted by Herman Stad, members come together to build their theoretical and practical knowledge of macro photography. This monthly evening meeting is open to photographers of all skill levels. It runs on the third Wednesday of the month, September through May.
Why Macro? Getting up close and personal with your photographic subject presents a wide variety of technical, practical and artistic challenges and rewards. See examples. For an overview of this SIG, click here (MP4 video) Meeting Format Meeting are conducted digitally via Zoom. To participate you will need a computer with a microphone and camera, or a smart tablet. You must pre-register to receive the link to the Zoom meetings. what to expect
The formal activities include:
Short presentations These can deal with practical and/or theoretical concerns, review professional macro photographers and artists, provide tips on image processing, presentation, or handling. Showcases These allow a member to present a project, images relating to a particular place or subject, multiple treatments of a single image, etc. Comment and critique These sessions allow all members to submit images on the monthly theme. These are shown to the group, and both the creator and the attendees can offer constructive comments and ask questions. We expect each member will be able to submit one or two images for each meeting. meeting Dates
Meetings are held online third Wednesday of the month (September to May) from 7:00-8:30 PM.
