In Memoriam: Ruth Ball
RUTH BALL (1938 - 2023)
Longtime IACC member Ruth Ball, 85, passed away with her large family providing love and support to the end. We will all miss her enthusiasm, creativity, sense of style and warm smile. Ruth was a hobby photographer for decades and became more serious about it in her early 70’s. Her growth as a photographer was reflected in her many winning submissions to our photo competitions. She also gave back to the Club by making lovely floral table decorations for several of our social events. Ruth even combined her photo and crafting skills during her member showcase when she highlighted 60 Father Christmas dolls that she had handmade for others. During her career she taught elementary classes locally and overseas. After retirement, she spent a lot of time with her wildlife care centre and worked at a tree farm. She also took the time to travel widely. Her long time friend, IACC member Cindy Poulin, said “I talked to Ruth about an obituary but she preferred to pass quietly from this life - no fuss, no bother; and that’s the way it was.” |
