Eleven IACC members, in addition to the IACC Workshop Chair Barry Headrick and the Presenter, Bruce Smith, attended the Rock Macro Photography Workshop held on Sunday, November 19, 2017,
Bruce provided an extensive array of rocks and rock slices, including agates and fossils for the participants to photograph. Topics included the use of a light table and other lighting methods, as well as mastering the challenges of focusing with an extremely small depth of field. Bruce stressed the value of focus stacking techniques and he recommended Zerene Stacker as his software of choice.
As always, Bruce willingly shared has extensive knowledge of technique and of rocks and minerals, as well as his infectious enthusiasm for the close-up photography of these marvels of nature.
