Homayoun started photography 10 years ago and has been fascinated by it ever since. Though it is not the first priority in his life, it is one of the major sources of joy for him. He believes that a photographer, like an artist, has a vision, and he doesn’t have one yet. So, he does not consider himself a photographer. The work that he showed us, however, belies that statement.
Homayoun likes to say that his photos are “by chance” and that he has only been at the right place at the right time. It seems though, unbeknownst to him, that the eye of a photographer was present, enabling him to get the phenomenal shots he included in his presentation. We especially enjoyed the fact that Homayoun narrated the presentation, giving us background for each of his images. It was refreshing for those of us who are novices to hear him say that he didn’t remember “what he shot” a photograph at (e.g., aperture) but that he did remember using a tripod. Some of us might also have been able to identify with the fact that he couldn’t remember if a mountain in the picture was in Banff or Jasper! These touches of humour were much appreciated, as evidenced by the laughter evoked. Thank you, Homayoun, for an awesome presentation. |
