Greg Harvey: Wildlife Photography Safaris Article written by John Hardeman, IACC Member
There must have been great anticipation for Greg Harvey’s presentation, as the hall was packed with about 120 Club members. He did not disappoint.
From the start of his presentation he captured the audience. His description of the Anthropomorphic shot (if you don’t remember these are photos of animals with a human characteristic). His photo of the praying Polar Bear was an example.
Greg then turned his focus to describing strategies to ensure a successful Safaris experience. Take the following steps to ultimately result in a more rewarding excursion:
planning, doing thorough research and preparing will help to answer the what, when and where
find small groupings
look for knowledgeable tour guides
have the right equipment to capture your perfect shot.
Greg’s photo displays of Kenya, South Africa and Northern Canada were both inspiring and educational. I found myself transported to each region.
