Activities: Dec 2021

Friday, Dec 3, 2021 - Outing: Luminaria

Once again the U of A/Botanic Garden is allowing our club early access to the gardens during the Luminaria event. They will let us into the grounds at 4pm for advance photos before the public enters at 5 pm.  Parking this year will be free but you have to buy your tickets in advance.  ACT FAST! Tickets sold out quickly!

The candle lighters will be working at that time so we are asked to make sure we don't interfere with their work.  We are not to go off the paths to take photos--either by foot or with tripods.

Saturday, Dec 4, 2021 - Workshop: Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) (Elaine Grandin)

In intentional camera movement (ICM), a camera is moved during the exposure for a creative or artistic effect. This causes the image points to move across the recording medium, producing an apparent streaking in the resulting image.

The process involves the selection of an aperture and the use of filters to achieve a suitable shutter speed. Photographers experiment both with the duration of the exposure and the direction and amount of camera movement while the shutter is open.
