(A new SIG for the 2021-22 season.)
Contemporary Photography can be described as a photograph from our own time, as opposed to an image from an earlier period. Officially, Contemporary Photograph refers to any photograph or canvas print taken from the year 1980 and beyond. Contemporary Photography refers to photo and imagery created in the “now”. What differentiates “now” photographs from “past” photographs is principally: 1) Photographic Techniques and 2) Photographic Ethics. Contemporary Photography is more than just a genre or a style; it’s a concept and an expression of the artist at a specific moment (the time of capture) that is then processed and presented – as a photograph. It is for people who are unafraid to think outside the box. Meetings: Sept 2021 to June 2022
(2nd Wednesday of the month, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., conducted via Zoom until further notice)
