CAPA Club Competitions: Results

Scope of Competition
For this competition, we are seeking your best image that symbolizes our unique Canadian identity and the natural beauty of our country.

For this competition, there will be four themes:
  • Animals/birds (wild or domesticated) that reside in Canada for a portion of their time
  • Cultural Diversity that provides an insight into different cultures, customs, celebrations, emotion, blending of cultures and the richness which different cultures strengthen our country (i.e. people, cultural clothing, historical locations/building, festivals, celebrations, ceremonies, gatherings, memorials, parades, etc…)
  • Landscape/Seascape/Cityscape – note: people may be included in the images but are not required
  • Machinery/Vehicles/Vessels/Trains/Bicycles – note: people may be included in the images but are not required

You are encouraged to submit your image which exemplifies the unique beauty of one of the themes from your perspective as either a resident or a visitor.
  • Eligibility Criteria – Prior to submitting any photo in a CAPA competition, all entrants must first read the CAPA Eligibility Criteria relating to images submissions.
  • Open Editing –  All in-camera, on-camera and post-processing techniques are permitted. The submitted images may be a combination of multiple images and elements. The entrant must have taken all components of the final image. Digital frame, pin-line, borders and mats are permitted in this competition.
  • Colour or black & white or monochrome or infrared images are permitted.

Specifications
Submitted JPG image must comply with the following:
  • Dimensions: Maximum horizontal size: 1400 pixels and Maximum vertical size: 1050 pixels
  • Note: One of the dimensions must be exactly the maximum allowed size and neither dimension may exceed the maximum pixels for that dimension
  • Colour Space: Should be sRGB
  • Colour Accuracy: Strongly recommend that you calibrate your monitor to ensure colour accuracy from your monitor to the image projected to the judges
  • Maximum filesize: 1.8 MB

Note: IACC holds an internal competition and six entries are submitted to CAPA as a ​Club Group Submission.

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Monochrome (Jan 2019)

Here are the 6 entries that represented the IACC

We finished 5th out of 41 clubs.
  1. Toronto Camera Club Total 151
  2. Toronto Digital Photo Club Total 143
  3. Club photo de Boucherville Total 143
  4. Club photo Impression Total 142.5
  5. Images Alberta Camera Club Total 141

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Fine Art (Oct 2018)

Here are the 6 entries that represented the IACC

IACC finished 3rd out of the 37 clubs that entered.
  1. Montreal Camera Club 144 points
  2. Lions Gate Camera Club 140.5 points
  3. Images Alberta Camera Club 140 points

Also, the 1st Merit Award for highest scoring individual images was awarded to our own Mufty Mathewson for her image REdress on Crown Land.

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Close-up (June 2018)

IACC tied for 11th out of 27 entries.

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Black and White (February 2018)

IACC placed 2nd.
Colleen Sayer received the 1st Place Merit Award.

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Fine Art (October 2017)

IACC placed 12th out of 24 entries

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION: Macro (April 2017)

IACC placed 3rd (Bronze Award) in the Club Macro Competition. (14 Clubs entered and IACC tied for second but lost the tie breaker).

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION WINNERS: OPEN (March 2017)

IACC was 6th overall (Honourable Mention) (25 Clubs entered)

CAPA CLUB COMPETITION WINNERS: PORTRAIT (March 2017)

IACC was 8th overall (19 Clubs entered)
