Tue Apr 1 - MCC Webinar presents Dr. Jennifer Burgess 6 PM (online only)
Manitoba Camera Club presents Dr. Jennifer Burgess. Did you know that the average museum-goer spends about six seconds looking at a piece of art? For her talk "Six Seconds, Seven Steps: Formal Analysis and How to Use It, "Dr. Burgess will detail the aspects of formal analysis to demonstrate all the visual tools an artist has to express and communicate ideas, essentially peeling back the layers of an image or object to understand how and why it works - or doesn’t!

We will celebrate Mufty's 47 years of being involved with Images Alberta: her leadership of and contribution to numerous initiatives such as ReDress and A Day in the Life projects, serving as President three (!) times and as editor of our award-winning Imagery magazine for 12 years, serving as the club's historian, hosting workshops.
Thu Apr 24 - Annual Competition Night 7 PM (in person + online)
Review and judges' critique of entries in 12 categories. Winners will be announced at Thu May 22 club wrap up event.
Sat Apr 26/ Sun Apr 27 - Shane Turgeon Night Skies Workshop
Join Can Geo Award-Winning Photographer of the Year (2024) Shane Turgeon for an immersive night photography workshop.
This special event will feature a 90-120 min classroom session exploring the basics of understanding the night sky and his popular Nightscapes 101 talk.
Once the classroom session is complete, participants will join Shane in the field for a 2 hour session putting what we’ve learned into practice.
This session will be great for beginner and intermediate photographers and those hoping to learn more about night photography.
In the field, Shane will provide hands-on instruction to everything from composing and focusing in the dark to different lighting techniques, various targets and more!
