Annual Competition 2024-25
The Annual Competition is our premier event of the year, showcasing our members' work.
- Three categories are voted on by club members (Clive Mathewson, Video, Print).
- Nine categories (100-900) are scored by external judges.
- All categories are for digital images except the one Print category.

- Submit entries by Apr 13, 10 PM
- Winners will be announced at the Annual Awards Meeting in May

Content: Open. This category is restricted to members that have NOT received a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place JUDGED award in any of the competitions this 2024-25 club season. Members who have received a member-voted first, second, or third place may enter.

400: Outings
Format: A single digital image
Content: The image must be taken at a sanctioned IACC Outing or Workshop in the current club year June 2024-May 2025. The Outing/Workshop name and year should be in the title, e.g. Aldon 2024_image name.jpg

500: the wild world - flora
Format: A single digital image
Content: Image must be of a wildplant(s), photographed in its natural setting (hand of man allowed, e.g., fence post). Plants include lichen, seaweed, fungi and mosses. Non-wild plants that have gone feral are not allowed, e.g., irises or lilacs found around abandoned farmsteads.

600: the wild world - fauna
Format: A single digital image
Content: Image must be of a wild animal(s) photographed in its natural setting (hand of man allowed, e.g., fence post). Non-vertebrate creatures are allowed. Feral versions of non-wild animals are not, e.g., horses or pigs.

700: 'scapes
Format: A single digital image
Content: The image may be a landscape, a seascape, a skyscape or a cityscape. There are no hard restrictions, other than that the image is to be made outdoors.

900: photo essay
Format: A large single composite digital image (5-9 images)
Content: A narrative photo essay is a series of images, presented together, designed to tell a story of some sort. A thematic photo essay will likely score poorly (e.g. 6 images of a flower from different angles). See Annual Competition Rules for more details.
