Annual Competition 2022-23

Overview

The Annual Competition is our premier event of the year, showcasing our members' work.  Please read the details of each category you wish to enter. Some categories have quite specific requirements, and some have changed from previous years. The Clive Mathewson Award, New Member Award and Video Composition are voted on by the members. All other categories are judged by experienced photographic judges chosen by the Competition Committee.

All but two of the theme options are for digital entries. Only the President's Challenge and Wild World - Flora are for print entries.

  • A Work in Progress (scored).  NOT open to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place monthly winners
  • Outings (scored). Formal club outings only, NOT Foto Friday activities or SIG activities

  • Wild World - Fauna (scored) 
  • 'Scapes (scored) 
  • Photo Essay (scored) 
  • New Member (member selected)

President’s Challenge: "Reflections"

This category is restricted to members that have NOT received a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place award in any of the competitions this year.

Outings

Content:​ The image must be from a sanctioned IACC Outing, ​in the current club year. The original image must have been acquired at the Outing.

The Wild World - Fauna

Format:​ A single digital image

‘Scapes

Format:​ A single digital image
Content:​ The image may be a landscape, a seascape, a skyscape or a cityscape. There are no hard restrictions, other than that the image is to be made outdoors (see Competitions info doc for more detail)

Photo Essay

Format:​ A single composite digital image (5-9 images)
Content:​ A photo essay is a series of images, presented together, designed to tell a story of some sort.
