Annual Competition 2022
|
|
Overview
The Annual Competition is our premier event of the year, showcasing our members' work. The document below contains a wealth of info regarding the competitions (e.g. categories, rules). Please read the details of each category you wish to enter. Some categories have quite specific requirements, and some have changed from previous years. Apart from the Clive Mathewson Award, which is voted on by the members, all categories are judged by experienced photographic judges chosen by the Competition Committee.
To highlight a few things, including changes imposed by the pandemic
Competition Date: April 28, 2022, 7:30 p.m. (the winners will be announced at the year-end meeting on May 26; hopefully an in-person meeting)
Deadline for Entries: closed

New Member Showcase
Format: Two digital images
Content: Open
In past years we have had an annual competition category dedicated to new members, but this year we've replaced the New Member category to the Up and Coming category. However, we want to appreciate our new members and recognize their journey into the club. To do this we will have a New Member Showcase. Each new member can submit two digital images. Of the two images one will be open, while the other has a theme (being you are new members) of My IACC (an image that somehow represents IACC to/for you). The entry forms are below and the deadline will be the same as the annual competition. The images will be incorporated into a slideshow to be shown at the year end meeting in May. New members are also encouraged to bring a print (see section below) to the year end meeting.

Year-End Print Showcase
As you know, we tried to have some print competitions early in the year and, unfortunately, had to cancel them for the second half as we went fully virtual again. Not unexpectedly the print competitions we have did not have a large number of entries. However, we are holding out hope for an in-person year-end meeting in May. Should that happen, I would like to celebrate prints with a print showcase. This is not a competition and, since there is no need to create a slideshow, there is no need to enter/preregister. It will simply be BYOP (Bring Your Own Print). We'll set up easels and you can put your print up. Please limit yourself to one print per member. Also, please make a tag with the image title and your name.
