IACC Honorary Lifetime Member

Long time IACC member Alvin Baragar (Sep 18, 1933 to Dec 8, 2024) received an honorary membership for his work on the Club's 25th Anniversary publication in 1999.

Alvin had a PhD in Theoretical Physics and worked as a Mathematical Modelling professor at the University of Alberta. After his retirement in 1996, he helped with high school math competitions and the provincial math curriculum.

Keeping with his love of numbers, Alvin was a skilled and passionate bridge player. He also expressed his creativity through woodwork, writing poetry and short stories, as well as taking many photos over his lifetime. Some examples are shown below.
