Presenter: Chris Attrell (Exploring Night Photography)
"Expand your night photography with new light painting techniques and opportunities. Since my first time shooting at night in 2006, and my first light painting in 2010, I’ve slowly developed new techniques with different kinds of lighting and with unconventional subjects, some of which I will share for the first time at this event."
|
Chris Attrell began his photographic journey in 1996 as a landscape and nature photographic hobbyist. His interest took a more localized turn in 2003 when he started to explore rural Alberta and Saskatchewan, seeking out symbols of the prairie past; grain elevators, ghost towns, and abandoned buildings.

Presenter: Dave Chidley (It's All About the Light)
Photography doesn’t need to be complicated. Keeping it simple will lead to great pictures. It’s not all about megapixels and post-processing but about the capturing of light. Dave will touch on technology versus creativity.
|
Dave Chidley was a staff photographer at the Calgary Sun from 1984-2000, working at the London Free Press until 2006 and has been the regional contract freelancer for The Canadian Press, as well as for The Toronto Star, National Post and the Globe and Mail since then. He has been teaching photo courses for the past 6 years at the Lambton College of Digital Photography. He loves teaching photographic skills, and sharing photo knowledge, tips, and ideas. He has been co-hosting Travel Photography trips with Photo Tour Trekkers for 14 years.
"Dave Chidley is a full time professional photographer who has covered Southwestern Ontario for the Canadian Press wire news. He brought us the topic “Seeing is Believing”. He started out drawing responses from the club on “What Makes a Good Photograph?” Our answers covered a broad spectrum from Light, Mood/Emotion, Story, Composition, Color, & Texture."

Member showcase: Ron Trink (“The Road to Photographic Perfection”)
With tongue planted firmly in cheek, Ron will show and tell us how he has worked towards achieving PERFECTION in his photography. As with many of us, Ron is seeing growth and often enjoys looking back at ‘What Was’ and forward to ‘Where Perfection Is'.
"As photographers we are all trying to take the perfect photo. Ron’s definition of photographic perfection is more than just the perfect subject as it includes the environment in which the image was taken."
