December 7, 2017 (Thursday) Legislature Light Up: 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
For over 30 years the Alberta Legislature has celebrated the holiday season with an spectacular light display and musical performances throughout December.
Legislature Lights Outing
I arrived later in the evening so unfortunately missed those gorgeous cobalt blue hues in the sky, but was entranced by the new lights on the plaza beside the Federal building and on the east lawns.
I took some new photos on the upper level of the large tree by the Federal building with the dome in the background and did some panning and zooming of the lens for experimentation around the main level. I did see one other photographer with a wide lens when I first arrived but after that it seemed to be mainly tourists.
This has definitely been the warmest evening for turning on the lights. Many families and friends were strolling around the grounds admiring the lights so I incorporated them into the photos or set long exposures where they became blurs or non-existent. It has been a while since I have been able to get out so I thoroughly enjoyed my outing, although I missed the presence of other Club members. (Jane Chesebrough)
