Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Outing: September 11, 2016
Step Back in Time
Written by Barbara Morban, IACC Webmaster
On a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning about 14 IACC members went to the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village (UCHV) to capture the "Harvest of the Past and Harvest Food Festival."
The pancake breakfast and hot coffee were needed at 9:00 to start the day and by 10:00 all the Historical Village Activities were underway and the buildings were open to the public. The hardy lot of photographers headed off in all directions to find some unique shots, before the rain began to fall.
The joy of being at the UCHV is the opportunity to step back in time, hear the stories about the Ukrainian pioneer experiences, and photograph all the activities, including the Threshing demonstrations.
For many of the IACC members this was not their first time at the UCHV, since for years there was an outing held in February. Without a doubt, this September outing was not as cold as the winter one, but it sure was an eye opener that fall is definitely here.
